Img_0351I flew back home to Atlanta today from my short and sweet trip to NYC.  Yesterday was my only full day there and it was completely satisfying!  I finished what ‘lemonade’ I had left where I was staying and headed out to walk the city around noon.  I stopped at One Lucky Duck Juice and Take Away, the take away cafe for Pure Wine & Food and picked up a gift and a coconut water that was delicious.  Now coconut juice is not allowed on "The Master Cleanser" by Stanley Burroughs but the most important thing to follow is yourself when doing anything and to listen to your body.

While sipping on my nourishing coconut water I walked around the East Village, where I lived in 1999-2001.  Img_0353
It was so great to be back and I enjoyed being there fully present to all of the sights, sounds, people and places.  I’ve noticed how much more aware I am when not eating or digesting food.  Not to mention how much time and money I’m saving.  I headed down to SOHO and then up to Chelsea to visit with a couple of friends.  I walked five hours around the city without sipping on my ‘lemonade’ and was pretty loopy by the time I was able to make another batch.  Listening to how I was feeling and knowing it was my last night in the city with the best food in the world I decided that I should have some light food for dinner with my friends.

We went to Soto for dinner which was in Atlanta until chef Sotohiro Kosugi, a man who knows no boundaries when it comes to his fish, moved to a market that can fully appreciate his talent.
Soto You know that question people ask about what you would eat if it was your last meal.  Well after not eating for 5 days and knowing I wasn’t going to eat anything again for another 5 days, it really did feel like my last meal and that would be my choice.
    Sashimi
The dishes were much better looking and tasting then this picture and then I have ever had before.  The miso soup was out of this world and the many unique sashimi dishes that I took bites of filled me with pure joy.

It is important to make decisions that make sense when it comes to your health.  If I didn’t eat last night while I was in Soto in NYC it would have been more unhealthy with the stress I would be ingesting to try to be perfect.

Today I felt great and it was a breeze to stay on the cleanse all day with the memories of last night lingering on my tongue.

i’m glad you listened to your spirit. you will look back on that meal with friends and treasure it’s beauty (in many ways) for years to come. perfection doesn’t taste/feel as good as a life well lived!
